Synthetic fatliquoring agent
GREIBOSOL ZPX
GREIBOSOL ZPX is a high-performance synthetic combining fatliquor based on synthetic oil, sulphonated for optimised performance, and supplied as a yellowish to beige paste at an active substance concentration of approximately 60%. Its carefully engineered synthetic oil base gives GREIBOSOL ZPX a particularly high affinity for the leather fibre structure, making it especially well suited for all types of leather with a low extractable fat content, and above all for small skins where thorough and reliable fibre lubrication is essential for consistent quality results.
Like GREIBOSOL SPA and GREIBOSOL VPS, the effects achieved with GREIBOSOL ZPX depend directly on the particle size of the emulsion, which is influenced by the method and intensity of dilution. This allows every individual softness level and surface effect to be precisely controlled and adjusted to the requirements of the specific article. For very finely dispersed solutions with maximum distribution uniformity, the product can be melted prior to emulsification before stirring water at 60°C into the product.
GREIBOSOL ZPX demonstrates excellent stability in mineral tanning floats, enabling its use at stages where mineral tanning agents are present. Its excellent light fastness and excellent heat resistance make it fully suitable for white and pastel shade leathers, where long-term colour stability under light and heat exposure is a critical requirement.
Please note: GREIBOSOL ZPX is sensitive to frost. Should the product freeze, it can be fully restored by warming to approximately 20°C and stirring to homogenise.

Application Examples
GREIBOSOL ZPX is the preferred synthetic combining fatliquor wherever high fibre affinity, individual softness and surface effect control, and reliable performance on small skins with low extractable fat content are the defining requirements.
For small skins such as goat, sheep, and lamb leather, the high affinity of GREIBOSOL ZPX for the leather fibre structure ensures thorough and reliable lubrication even under the challenging conditions presented by low-fat raw materials, where conventional fatliquors without dedicated fibre affinity may not achieve the required depth and uniformity of fat distribution. This makes GREIBOSOL ZPX the preferred combining fatliquor for premium small skin leather articles in gloves, garments, and accessories.
For all leather types where individual softness and surface effects need to be precisely adjusted, the particle size of the GREIBOSOL ZPX emulsion provides the key control parameter: coarser emulsions deliver more pronounced surface effects, while finer emulsions ensure deeper and more uniform fibre lubrication throughout the full leather cross-section. For maximum emulsion fineness, the product should be melted prior to emulsification.
For white and pastel shade leathers in footwear, garment, and accessories production, GREIBOSOL ZPX provides the excellent light fastness and heat resistance required to maintain colour purity and surface quality over the full service life of the finished article.
