GREIBOSOL SPA is a high-performance synthetic combining fatliquor based on high molecular saturated hydrocarbons, sulphonated for optimised performance, and supplied as a yellowish pourable paste. It is the ideal fatliquoring base for multi-component fatliquor systems across all types of leather, where individual softness, surface character, and dyeing levelness need to be precisely tuned to the specific requirements of the article.
As a combining fatliquor, GREIBOSOL SPA is designed to be used in combination with other fatliquoring agents, where the individual components of the fatliquor mixture can be adjusted to achieve any desired softness level and surface effect. This makes GREIBOSOL SPA an exceptionally flexible fatliquoring tool, enabling tanners to tailor the performance profile of the complete fatliquor system precisely to the needs of different leather types, end uses, and quality requirements.
A technically distinctive feature of GREIBOSOL SPA is the influence of particle size on the performance of the finished leather. The particle size of the emulsion, which can be controlled through the method and intensity of dilution, directly influences the distribution of the fatliquor within the leather fibre structure and therefore the surface character, softness profile, and dyeing levelness of the finished leather. For very finely dispersed solutions with maximum distribution uniformity, the product can be melted prior to emulsification before stirring water at 60°C into the product.
GREIBOSOL SPA demonstrates good stability in mineral tanning floats, allowing it to be applied at early stages of the wet-end process where mineral tanning agents are present. The product is not sensitive to frost and has a shelf life of up to 12 months.

Coarser emulsions will tend to act more on the surface of the leather, while finer emulsions will distribute more evenly throughout the full fibre cross-section, giving tanners targeted control over the balance between surface effect and inner softness.
For applications where maximum emulsion fineness and distribution uniformity are required, GREIBOSOL SPA should be melted prior to emulsification before stirring in water at 60°C, producing a very finely dispersed solution that ensures optimal distribution throughout the leather structure and the most uniform dyeing and handle results.

Method of diluting
Stir water at 60°C into the product. Very fine dispersed solutions can be obtained by melting prior to emulsion.
