GREIBOSOL SFH

GREIBOSOL SFH is a highly concentrated, electrolyte-stable multistage fatliquor based on selected high-quality marine oils, sulphited for optimised performance, and developed for use across all production stages from pickle and chrome tanning through pre-fatliquoring and main fatliquoring. With an active substance concentration of approximately 80%, GREIBOSOL SFH is the high-concentration counterpart to GREIBOSOL SFL, offering equivalent process versatility at significantly reduced dosing volumes, making it a particularly economical choice for high-volume tannery operations.

GREIBOSOL SFH is the ideal product for soft upper leathers, nappa for boots, all types of soft shoe leathers, upholstery leather, and automotive upholstery, where consistent softness, reliable physical properties, and uniform dyeing across the full hide are essential quality requirements.

Its outstanding electrolyte stability enables reliable performance under the highly acidic and salt-rich conditions of the pickle and tanning bath, and makes GREIBOSOL SFH the preferred fatliquor for vegetable-tanned leathers and for compact retanning processes where stability under varying chemical conditions is critical.

Please note: GREIBOSOL SFH has moderate light fastness and moderate heat resistance and is therefore not recommended for white or pastel shade leathers where colour stability under light exposure is a critical requirement.

GREIBOSOL SFH can be diluted in water at 60°C whilst stirring to form a fine dispersed emulsion, or added undiluted directly to the float.

Application Examples

GREIBOSOL SFH is suitable for use across all production stages wherever consistent softness, reliable physical properties, and process stability are the primary requirements.

In the pickle and chrome tanning stage, GREIBOSOL SFH improves the softness of the leathers and supports a better distribution of the tanning agent across the individual hide areas. Its high electrolyte stability ensures reliable emulsion performance under the acidic and salt-rich conditions of the pickle, protecting the grain from mechanical damage particularly under short liquor and high drum load conditions.

In cationic retanning and neutralization, GREIBOSOL SFH ensures even distribution of fatliquor throughout the hide cross-section prior to the main retanning step, contributing to more consistent chemical uptake and a smoother, more uniform grain in the finished leather.

As a main fatliquor for shoe upper leathers and automotive upholstery, GREIBOSOL SFH delivers outstanding softness and uniform fat distribution. Its high concentration of approximately 90% enables the required softness levels to be achieved at lower dosing volumes compared to standard-concentration fatliquors, reducing material costs without compromising leather quality.

For vegetable-tanned leathers and compact retanning operations, GREIBOSOL SFH is the preferred choice due to its outstanding stability across a wide range of chemical conditions encountered in these process environments.

Legal Information

GREIBOSOL SFH has a shelf life of approximately one year and is resistant to frost. Should the product freeze, it can be fully restored by warming to approximately 20°C and stirring to homogenise.
