Synthetic fatliquor for very soft articles
GREIBOSOL BLW
GREIBOSOL BLW is a high-performance synthetic fatliquor based on synthetic emulsified oils, supplied as a turbid yellow to brown paste, and developed for the production of very soft leather articles. Its carefully engineered formulation delivers a unique combination of deep inner softness, a full cloth-like lightweight handle, and excellent milling properties, making it the ideal fatliquor for garment leathers, upholstery leathers, and double-face articles.
GREIBOSOL BLW binds strongly to the leather fibres, ensuring that the softness achieved is durably retained throughout the service life of the finished leather. Unlike fatliquors that merely deposit between the fibres, the strong fibre-binding character of GREIBOSOL BLW anchors the fatliquoring components within the collagen structure, preventing any loss of softness over time even under conditions of mechanical use, washing, or heat exposure.
The handle achieved with GREIBOSOL BLW is dosage-dependent, ranging from a silky feel at lower application levels to a more pronounced waxy handle at higher dosing, giving tanners precise control over the final surface character of the finished leather. In all cases, the leather retains the characteristic full, cloth-like, and lightweight body that defines premium quality garment and double-face leather.
GREIBOSOL BLW delivers an even, bold milling effect, making it particularly well suited for milled leather articles where a consistent and clearly defined pebble structure across the full hide is a critical quality requirement. On suede and double-face leathers, the addition of 2 to 3% GREIBOSOL BLW imparts an attractive lustre to the suede surface.
For optimal results, GREIBOSOL BLW benefits from being applied in two to three separate additions distributed across the pre-fatliquoring and main fatliquoring stages, enabling a more even and thorough distribution of fatliquor components throughout the full leather cross-section.

Properties
Application Examples
GREIBOSOL BLW is the preferred synthetic fatliquor for garment leathers, upholstery leathers, and double-face articles wherever a combination of deep inner softness, full cloth-like handle, precise surface effect control, and reliable milling performance are the defining quality requirements.
In garment leather production, GREIBOSOL BLW is applied in two to three separate additions across the pre-fatliquoring and main fatliquoring stages. This multi-stage approach ensures that fatliquor components are distributed evenly throughout the full fibre cross-section from the earliest stage of the process, delivering a consistently deep and permanent softness with the characteristic lightweight, drapeable body that premium garment leather demands.
For upholstery leathers, GREIBOSOL BLW contributes the full, rounded body and consistent softness across the entire hide that are essential for high-end furniture and automotive upholstery articles, where both tactile quality and long-term softness retention under sustained mechanical use are critical performance requirements.
In double-face production, the addition of 2 to 3% GREIBOSOL BLW imparts an attractive lustre to the suede side of the article, enhancing the visual and tactile quality of both faces of the finished double-face leather and supporting the premium surface character required for high-value garment and accessory applications.
For milled leather articles, GREIBOSOL BLW supports the complete relaxation of the fibre structure required for consistent and well-defined milling grain development, delivering an even, bold milling pattern with reduced quality variation between dense and loosely structured areas of the hide.
