GREIBOSOL OLX
GREIBOSOL OLX is a synthetic, water-insoluble fatliquoring additive based on synthetic hydrocarbons, supplied as a yellow oil at an active substance content of almost 100%. It is used in partial combination with standard water-soluble fatliquoring agents, with the exact proportions determined by the fatliquoring effect required.
As a synthetic counterpart to natural oil-based water-insoluble fatliquor additives, GREIBOSOL OLX offers significantly enhanced cold stability, with a pour point below –30°C, making it the preferred choice for production environments and storage conditions where conventional oil-based additives may thicken or become difficult to handle at low temperatures.
GREIBOSOL OLX is incorporated at the end of the fatliquoring process, where its synthetic hydrocarbon base delivers a distinctive silky, lustrous surface sheen to the finished leather — an effect that cannot be achieved with water-soluble fatliquors alone and that adds a refined surface quality to the final article. The desired surface effect can be precisely adjusted through the quantity used, giving tanners full control over the intensity of the silky sheen in the finished leather.
GREIBOSOL OLX is mixed with the water-soluble fatliquor first, before water at 60°C is stirred into the mixture to form the working emulsion.

The degree of sheen can be varied from a subtle, natural lustre to a more pronounced silky finish by adjusting the proportion of GREIBOSOL OLX within the total fatliquor offer.
