Natural Lecithin Fatliquor for Premium Soft Leathers
GREIBOSOL GLA
GREIBOSOL GLA is a premium lecithin-based fatliquor formulated from modified natural oils and phospholipids, supplied as a yellowish-brown paste. It is specifically developed for upholstery leather, garment leather, gloving leather, and double-face articles, where the unique combination of phospholipid chemistry and modified natural oils delivers a distinctive leather quality that is difficult to achieve with conventional fatliquoring agents alone.
The phospholipid base of GREIBOSOL GLA gives it a strong natural affinity for the collagen fibre structure, ensuring deep and even penetration throughout the full leather cross-section and durable fixation of the fatliquoring components within the fibre network. This results in exceptional fullness combined with a characteristically lightweight feel — a combination particularly valued in garment leather, gloving leather, and double-face articles where low leather weight and outstanding body are equally critical quality requirements.
A unique performance feature of GREIBOSOL GLA is its dosage-dependent handle versatility: depending on the amount used, the surface feel of the finished leather can be adjusted from a delicate silky touch at lower dosing levels to a more pronounced waxy feeling at higher dosing levels, giving tanners precise control over the final handle character of the leather.
GREIBOSOL GLA improves the grease resistance of very soft leathers, a particularly valuable property for garment and upholstery leathers that are exposed to body oils and external grease in use, and delivers excellent softness across the full range of intended application types.
GREIBOSOL GLA is recommended as a pre-fatliquor during the retanning stage and during the main fatliquoring stage. For best results, it is most suitably used in combination with other fatliquoring agents, contributing up to 50% of the total fatliquor offer, where its phospholipid chemistry complements and enhances the performance of the overall fatliquoring recipe.

Properties
Application Examples
GREIBOSOL GLA is the preferred lecithin-based fatliquor for all soft leather applications where exceptional fullness, lightweight feel, and dosage-controlled handle versatility are the defining quality requirements.
In garment leather production, GREIBOSOL GLA delivers the exceptional fullness and lightweight character essential for high-quality aniline garment leathers, while its phospholipid base simultaneously improves the tensile and tear strength of the leather — a critical performance requirement for garment and fashion leather articles that must withstand the mechanical stresses of cutting, sewing, and wear without grain damage or delamination.
For gloving leather, GREIBOSOL GLA provides the distinctive combination of lightweight feel, exceptional softness, and silky surface touch that are the defining quality criteria of premium glove leathers, where the leather must follow the movement of the hand effortlessly while maintaining its shape and surface character throughout its service life.
In double-face article production, GREIBOSOL GLA supports the even and thorough lubrication of both the leather and the wool fibre side, contributing to consistent softness, full body, and a uniform surface appearance on both faces of the article.
For upholstery leather, GREIBOSOL GLA is used as a pre-fatliquor during the retanning stage and as a component of the main fatliquoring recipe at up to 50% of the total fatliquor offer, where it contributes exceptional fullness and improved grease resistance while enhancing the overall softness and handle of the finished leather in combination with other GREIBOSOL fatliquoring products.
