Honing and lapping liquid
GREIBOCOOL B
GREIBOCOOL B is a water-miscible, high-performance special lubricant and cooling lubricant specifically developed for honing and lapping operations on ferrous workpieces. Its advanced formulation is engineered to meet the demands of heavy-duty machining operations, where consistent lubrication, cooling efficiency, and surface integrity are critical.
GREIBOCOOL B significantly enhances lubrication, corrosion protection, and flushing performance throughout the cutting process, ensuring reliable and reproducible results even under demanding operating conditions.
The formulation is completely free from boron, nitrite, secondary amines, and organically bound halogens, making it a responsible choice in terms of occupational health, workplace safety, and environmental compliance with current regulatory standards.

Application Examples
GREIBOCOOL B is the preferred cooling lubricant for honing and lapping operations on ferrous metals, particularly where heavy material removal rates or tight surface finish requirements demand a high-performance specialist product.
The product is used at a working concentration of approximately 7% in water and is designed for continuous circulation system use, ensuring consistent lubricant quality and stable process conditions throughout extended production runs.
For effective system maintenance, the addition of a biocide and regular microbiological monitoring are recommended to prevent bacterial growth, maintain lubricant performance, and extend the service life of the coolant, thereby reducing fluid consumption and disposal costs.
Typical applications include precision honing of cylinder bores, hydraulic components, and bearing surfaces, as well as lapping of sealing faces, valve seats, and high-precision flat surfaces in the automotive, hydraulic, and precision engineering industries.
Application:
| Application concentration | Approx. 7 % in water |
| Usage | in circulation |
| System care | eventually biocide addition, microbial control |
Eventually addition of corrosion inhibitors is required.
Legal Information
Recommended storage temperature for quality reasons: +10 to +30 °C. Possible inhomogeneities (flocculation, stratification, sediment, etc.) due to other storage temperatures usually disappear when stored in the recommended temperature range. If such inhomogeneities do not disappear by itself during storage in the recommended temperature range, the product should be stirred for homogenization.
