GREIBOSOL STS
GREIBOSOL STS is a high-performance, fully synthetic anionic fatliquor based on a combination of synthetic oils and esters, formulated for use across all production stages from pickle and chrome tanning through retanning and main fatliquoring. It can be added undiluted directly to the float and is fully compatible with chrome tanning conditions due to its excellent stability in chrome tanning floats.
GREIBOSOL STS delivers very good inner softness and a distinctive silky handle through its outstanding exhaustion, fixation, and even distribution throughout the full leather cross-section. The ester-based synthetic chemistry ensures that the fatliquor components penetrate deeply and fix durably within the collagen fibre structure, contributing to consistent softness and a fine, smooth surface feel in the finished leather.
A defining performance advantage of GREIBOSOL STS is its outstanding resistance to yellowing caused by heat and light, making it one of the most suitable fatliquors for white and pastel-coloured leathers where colour purity and long-term stability under light and heat exposure are critical quality requirements. Its very good light fastness and very good heat resistance, both significantly superior to natural oil-based fatliquors, ensure that the leather retains its clean, bright colour throughout production and over the full service life of the finished article.
GREIBOSOL STS has positive effects on the dispersion of natural fats within the leather structure, supporting an even distribution of residual natural fats that would otherwise concentrate unevenly and cause fatty spew or colour patchiness. It also improves the shade brightness and cleanness of dyeings, contributing to more vibrant, level, and reproducible colour results.

In the pickle and chrome tanning stage, GREIBOSOL STS can be applied directly to the process bath due to its excellent stability in chrome tanning floats, ensuring even early-stage fat distribution and contributing to a more uniform chrome uptake and consistent wet blue quality across the full hide.
In retanning, GREIBOSOL STS supports the even distribution of the total fatliquor offer throughout the leather cross-section and complements the retanning agents by improving the dispersion of any residual natural fats present in the hide, reducing the risk of uneven retanning results, fatty spew, or dye patchiness in the finished leather.

Legal Information
GREIBOSOL STS has a shelf life of approximately 12 months and is not sensitive to frost. Should the product freeze, it can be fully restored by warming to approximately 20°C and stirring to homogenise.
