GREIBOSOL SFX
GREIBOSOL SFX is a semi-synthetic, electrolyte-stable multistage fatliquor based on a combination of selected high-quality marine oils and synthetic components, sulphited for optimised performance. It is specifically developed for use across all production stages from pickle and chrome tanning through pre-fatliquoring and main fatliquoring, and is the ideal product for soft upper leathers, nappa for boots, and upholstery leather.
What sets GREIBOSOL SFX apart from the purely marine oil-based GREIBOSOL SFH is its semi-synthetic formulation: the addition of carefully selected synthetic components alongside the high-quality marine oil base delivers a significantly enhanced fixation to the leather fibre. This excellent fibre fixation ensures that the fatliquor components are durably anchored within the collagen structure, preventing migration and loss during subsequent processing steps and contributing to lasting softness and stable physical properties throughout the service life of the finished leather.
GREIBOSOL SFX is stable to chromium and other electrolytes, enabling reliable use in pickle and chrome tanning without risk of emulsion instability. Its high electrolyte stability also makes it suitable for compact retanning and for fatliquoring of vegetable-tanned leathers.
GREIBOSOL SFX is designed for use in combination with other proven GREIBOSOL fatliquoring products, offering maximum flexibility in multi-component fatliquoring systems tailored to the specific requirements of the article and end use.
Please note: GREIBOSOL SFX has moderate light fastness and moderate heat resistance and is therefore not recommended for white or pastel shade leathers.
GREIBOSOL SFX is diluted with water at 60°C whilst stirring to form a fine dispersed emulsion, or can be added undiluted directly to the float.

Application Examples
GREIBOSOL SFX is suited for a broad range of soft leather applications across all production stages wherever outstanding fibre fixation, process stability, and the flexibility to combine with other fatliquoring agents in a multi-component system are the primary requirements.
In the pickle and chrome tanning stage, GREIBOSOL SFX can be applied directly to the acidic, salt-rich process bath, where its excellent electrolyte stability ensures reliable emulsion performance and even distribution of fatliquor throughout the hide from the very earliest stage of production. This early-stage fixation to the leather fibre supports consistent softness development and prepares the hide optimally for all subsequent retanning and fatliquoring steps.
In retanning and pre-fatliquoring, GREIBOSOL SFX ensures uniform fibre lubrication and consistent fatliquor distribution throughout the leather cross-section, contributing to a smooth, even grain and reliable physical properties in the finished leather.
As a main fatliquor for soft shoe upper leathers and upholstery, GREIBOSOL SFX delivers the consistent softness and durable fibre fixation required for premium quality articles, where resistance to fatliquor migration and long-term handle stability are critical performance criteria.
In multi-component fatliquoring systems, GREIBOSOL SFX combines seamlessly with other proven GREIBOSOL products, where its excellent fixation properties complement the softness and filling contributions of the other components to achieve a balanced and optimised overall fatliquoring result.

Legal Information
GREIBOSOL SFX has a shelf life of approximately one year and is resistant to frost. Should the product freeze, it can be fully restored by warming to approximately 20°C and stirring to homogenise.
