For clothing, nappa & very soft furniture leathers

GREIBOSOL SBH

GREIBOSOL SBH is a high-performance sulphited fatliquor based on a combination of synthetic and natural fatty substances, specifically developed for clothing leather, nappa leather, and very soft furniture leather. In contrast to deeper-penetrating fatliquors, GREIBOSOL SBH is formulated to act primarily in the surface layers of the leather, delivering an exceptionally soft surface feel combined with a pronounced filling effect that gives the leather a full, rounded body.

This surface-oriented action results in a particularly soft and smooth grain with a fuller, more substantial character, making GREIBOSOL SBH the preferred choice for articles where a surface softness and filling effect take priority over a deep, pronounced grip. The even fat distribution achieved within the surface structure ensures consistently level and uniform colourations across the full hide, which is particularly important for light and pastel shades where any unevenness in fat distribution would immediately result in irregular dye uptake.

A notable process advantage of GREIBOSOL SBH is its excellent bath exhaustion performance: the residual fat content in the working liquor after fatliquoring is particularly low, resulting in significantly reduced COD values in the tannery effluent. For specific handle effects, GREIBOSOL SBH can be combined with other anionic fatliquoring agents such as GREIBOSOL SFH.

Please note: GREIBOSOL SBH is not stable in chrome tanning floats and should not be used at this stage of the process.

Application Examples

GREIBOSOL SBH is the preferred fatliquor wherever surface softness, filling effect, and consistently level dyeing are the primary quality requirements.

In the production of clothing leather and garment nappa, GREIBOSOL SBH delivers the exceptional surface softness and full body that are particularly valued in articles where a plush, rounded feel and smooth grain are more important than a firm, deep-grip handle.

For nappa leather production, GREIBOSOL SBH provides the surface lubrication and filling effect that give the finished leather a full, rounded character with a distinctively soft and smooth grain surface, making it particularly well suited for lightweight, airy nappa articles in fashion and accessories.

In the production of very soft furniture leather, GREIBOSOL SBH supports a consistently soft surface feel and full grain appearance across large hide surfaces, meeting the requirements of high-end upholstery applications where a plush, filled surface quality is the primary tactile expectation.

GREIBOSOL SBH can be added to the float undiluted or pre-diluted by stirring into water at 60°C. Its excellent bath exhaustion ensures that the residual fat content in the working liquor remains particularly low, reducing COD values in the effluent and contributing to a cleaner, more cost-efficient production process.
